Mainstream: "I Got U" by Selena Gomez
The “What Will Be Mainstream” song that I’ve selected for this week is "I Got U” by Selena Gomez. Her song, “Naturally” has been popular recently, even breaking the top 10 on iTunes and top 30 on Billboard. While I do like that song, I also think that when people hear this song, it will also be popular.

Mainstream: "For Your Entertainment" by Adam Lambert
The “What Will Be Mainstream” song that I’ve selected for this week is "For Your Entertainment" by Adam Lambert. It’s the title song from the 2009 American Idol runner ups first CD. While not currently as popular as “Whataya Want From Me,” once people start listening to the rest of the CD, this song should become popular.
Song: For Your Entertainment
From the Album: For Your Entertainment
Artist: Adam Lambert
Original Release Date: November 20, 2009

What's Good: "Take Me Home Tonight" by Jamestown Story
This week, for the “What’s Good” category, I chose the song “Take Me Home Tonight” by Jamestown Story. This song was released on November 11, 2008 as part of the album “Love vs. Life.” Overall, I really like Jamestown Story as an artist. Some of the earlier stuff they produced was a tad whiny, but they ironed that about by the time they released "Love vs. Life."

Artist: Jamestown Story
Original Release Date: November 11, 2008

What's New: "Animal" by Ke$ha
I really liked Ke$ha’s first single “Tik Tok” and was excited for the release of her first full, solo studio album. She did not disappoint. Of the fourteen songs on the album, I can honestly say that I like twelve of them. The best part is that all fourteen of the songs do not sound the same. Ke$ha successfully blends a lot of different types on songs on this album. The three most popular songs off the album are: “Tik Tok,” “Blah Blah Blah,” and “Your Love is My Drug.” My favorite three songs are “Your Love is My Drug,” “Animal,” and “Boots and Boys.”
Album: Animal
Artist: Ke$ha
Original Release Date: January 5th, 2010
Tracks:
1. Your Love Is My Drug
2. Tik ToK
3. Take It Off
4. Kiss N Tell

8. Party At A Rich Dude's House
9. Backstabber
10. Blind
11. Dinosaur|

New Format for Posts
After nearly four months of existence, I have decided to change the three types of posts that I will be doing each week. Instead of having an: “Album of the Week,” “Single of the Week,” and “Shadow Song of the Week,” I have decided to do three posts that coincide with the headline of the blog. The posts will still be Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday but they will now be these three posts: “What’s New,” “What’s Good,” and “What Will be Mainstream.” Here is a further explanation of each of these new posts:
What’s New: An album or single released in the last month that I think deserves to get credit for quality. This may or may not be a “popular” artist but it will always an album that is above average and has more than one good song.
What’s Good: This could be a song or album that comes from my collection of music that I think deserves recognition. Most of the time, this music will be a year or more old.
What Will be Mainstream: This is a column for songs that I think will break into the iTunes or Billboard top 25. I will never pick a song that is currently in the iTunes or Billboard top 50. While I personally may not always like the song I post for this section, it is one that I think the general music population will.
